In a world where there is a plethora of shoes and waste we should be designing with the environment in mind always. I wanted to create a shoe that did not require a lot of resources to be created and could decompose in a short amount of time. With ‘design to decompose’ in mind and the inspiration from the Material Lab I created a sandal that can be made locally in Brazil or in your home. The materials I sourced both originate from Brazil making the reality of this shoe more achievable. The BRAZANDAL is also relatively heat resistant making it easier to walk on the hot ground. In hotter climates they prefer lightweight sandals, with these weighing less than a pound and having air flow, it will make for a comfortable shoe. These materials together will decompose in months instead of years. Making them last through a trend but not forever.
