This project takes the structure of the “Revolving Lantern” from the intangible cultural heritage as a carrier, reinterpreting it in a modern way, exploring the intersection of tradition, sustainability and innovation. Each facet of the light is a symbolic carrier of a season and festival, embodying the essence of festivals associated with seasonal changes, such as the Flower Festival in spring, the Dragon Boat Festival in summer, the Chinese Valentine’s Day in autumn or the Spring Festival in winter.
As the lanterns rotate automatically, they create a dynamic interplay of light, shadow and movement, symbolizing the constant transformation of the natural world. The gentle rotation reflects the rhythm of life - the cycle of growth, change and renewal - while conveying the beauty of traditional Chinese narrative.
