This project addresses issues concerning food scarcity and material waste within our daily life, focusing on the afterlives of food waste. By collecting, processing and repurposing food waste generated from her own kitchen, the designer creates a set of tableware and dining experiences utilizing hand-made bioplastic. Through these two items, the concept of 'from the table back to the table' is conveyed.

This project aims to redefine “waste” as raw material and provoke a sense of care. Everything comes from nature and sent to the grocery, consumed in the dinner table, and returned back to the dinner table to serve more delightful meals and then eventually return to earth and nature to be fertilizer as they decompose. This is the ideal circular economy the designer hope to witness in the future.
